· Lung cancer is one of the most leading causes of cancer related deaths.

· Men are the most risk at getting lung cancer.

· The survival rate for lung cancer rose from 32 percent in 1973 to 41 percent in 1990s.

· Approximately 178,000 causes of lung cancer are diagnosed annually.

· Cigarette smoking is linked to 85% of lung cancer cases.

· Those who smoke cigarettes are more likely to develop lung cancer than those who have never smoked at all.

· When lung cancer is discovered in its early stages, the survival rate rises to 70%

· Most lung cancer occurs between the ages of 35-75, but the highest occurrence is between the ages of 55-65.

· 1 out of 6 people who develop lung cancer have never smoked before.
